The Boat and the
Gear
|
The boat is a 2001 Edgewater 175CC, powered
by a 90hp Evinrude E-Tec outboard. It can
comfortably accommodate up to three passengers
(plus the captain). It is equipped with a large
casting platform at the bow, lockers for your gear,
and plenty of rod holders. It also has a VHF radio,
GPS and a Raytheon fish finder.

In my opinion, it is the perfect boat for fly
fishing and inshore fishing in these waters. The
deep-V hull can handle the chop that we encounter
on most days, yet the boat only draws 10 inches, so
we can get into some pretty shallow spots.

|
We use the boat for trolling inshore and
along the coast for cero mackeral, bar jacks,
bonito or yellowtail snapper. We also use the boat
to get to the flats, but most of our flats fishing
is done while wading, so please bring wading shoes
or flats boots.
Our spinning rods are all equipped with
top-quality Penn reels.

wading shoes (flats boots), polarized sunglasses, and
